A WINCHESTER salon, which will be celebrating its 50th year in 2024, has been voted the winner of the Hampshire Chronicle and Romsey Advertiser Hairdresser of the Year.
Guy Kremer Salon, in Stonemasons Court, Parchment Street, was voted by readers and clients as the best of the best for the second time, after winning in 2021.
Guy said: “This is the second time we have won the award. I'm delighted for the salon and the team because this is a team effort. Without my team, we wouldn't be where we are.
“The salon is all about excellent service and customer care, and every member of my staff takes care of the clients.
“This is a nomination by clients, we have nothing to do with it. So, to be recognised and be nominated for a second time shows that we are delivering what the clients deserve and need, showing that my staff produce an amazing quality of work.
“We feel very proud to be part of the Winchester community.”
Speaking about his 50th year, Guy said: “Hopefully, we will go for a hat-trick. We will do everything to get the hat-trick before I retire. I'm 70-years-old and still doing photoshoots for magazines nationally and internationally. My team and my clients keep me young.”
Guy added that the salon will be having a 'big celebration' to mark the occasion next year.

In 2014, he celebrated his 40th year with a party at the Greyhound on the Test in Stockbridge. On that occasion, he said: “It was wonderful, it’s a milestone to celebrate 40 years and have all my friends and people from the industry there.”
Guy is a member of L’Oreal Professionnel Portfolio, an exclusive group of top British hairdressers recognised for creativity and expertise in professional hairdressing.
Nine years ago, he was awarded The Fellowship of British Hairdressing’s UK Hairdresser of the Year for the second time.
Guy has been voted Southern Stylist of the Year for three consecutive years and was a winner of the L’Oreal Colour Trophy, along with the Best Men’s Collection at the Association of International Professional Press Awards.
These and many other awards secured his induction into the British Hairdressing Awards’ Hall of Fame.
He is also known for his extensive charity work, and snipping the locks of Ruby Wax, Maria Grachvogel, Graeme Souness and Roger Waters.
