A MAN is due in court today accused of dangerous driving after getting his car wedged in a gate, say police.
Officers on patrol in Holbury spotted a red Ford Mondeo ‘speeding’ on the A326.
When they tried to flag it down on the M27 it exited onto the M271.
The Mondeo was then spotted going the wrong way round a roundabout on Brownhill Road.
The vehicle finally stopped after getting stuck between a gate and post at the end of Coxford Road.
David Chant, 33, of Suffolk Drive in Chandler’s Ford, has been charged with dangerous driving, failing to stop, and driving without a license.
He was remanded in custody and was due to appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on Monday, March 27.
