WINCHESTER police have warned of drink driving consequences after arresting an individual who was more than two times over the legal limit.
Police officers stopped a driver, just outside Winchester City Centre on Tuesday, March 21, on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
The driver blew 80 in a breathalyser test, when the legal limit is 35 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath, and was swiftly arrested and taken into custody.
Winchester Police posted on Facebook: “The local neighbourhood policing team take these offences very seriously and will always take robust action on those who choose to endanger not only their own lives, but the lives of other road users and pedestrians, by choosing to drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs.”
Anyone with concerns about someone who could be driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol should call 101 or 999 in an emergency.
