A LOVED Romsey bookshop of nearly 15 years has announced it will be closing due to rising costs.
Peter Bell, of Bell’s Bookshops Ltd, posted that Superbook would be closing after 14 years in The Hundred in June, on the Facebook page Romsey News and Information.
Customers have rallied around the store to express their sadness and support, with the post receiving more than 100 comments and 400 reactions.
Peter Bell’s post, on Thursday, March 23, read: “I'm afraid Superbook in The Hundred will be closing in June. The cost-of-living crisis and increases to many of our costs have finally taken their toll. We have enjoyed serving you over the last 14 years and will miss you.”

Emma Noble commented: “Really sad you are going. You will be sadly missed. Over the years my children, now almost adults have enjoyed your bookshop.”
Others asked if there is anything they can do to keep the store open.
Shelley Stevens commented: “That's a loss to Romsey centre. How did it manage to stop from closing g the last time... Can we do it again?”
Joy Clamp commented: “So sorry to hear this… Is there anything the people of Romsey can do to help you stay? We love your shop!”
Superbook has been contacted for further comment. The store is currently giving out 10 per cent discount on all stock.
The store previously faced closure fears in 2019 due to the rise in online shopping.
