ONE activity that never gets old is taking a walk to see the ducks, and there are plenty of places in Hampshire where you can take the kids this Easter.
Here are some picturesque places in and around the County that you should 'chick out'.
1. The Vyne, National Trust.
An absolute staple of Hampshire, this beautiful park and manor house in Basingstoke features an ornamental lake and is home to a variety of wildlife.
2. River Itchen
The beautiful, tranquil river in the historic city of Winchester provides the perfect setting to see wildlife including swans, and of course, ducks.
Follow the trail along the river and head towards St Catherine's Hill for a picnic in the countryside.
3. Petersfield Lake
A 1.3km circular trail around this picturesque lake in Petersfield can take the average walker an hour to complete.
It's the ideal spot to have a picnic and take in the local wildlife.
4. Bishop's Waltham pond
This peaceful village is home to a 3.7km circular trail, a hidden gem in Hampshire.
Ideal for running and walking, this pond is home to fantastic wildlife, and is definitely worth a visit.
5. River Alre
Along this beautiful chalk stream that flows through Alresford are some incredibly scenic views.
Whilst short routes are available along this river, readers may be tempted to take on the full extent of the Alre and walk just shy of four miles as the spring days get warmer.

6. Longdown activity farm
This family-run farm in Southampton will provide a unique take on your typical 'duck experience'.
Here you can take part in animal encounters and there are even opportunities to get up close and personal and feed these feathered friends.
7. Charlton Lakeside, Andover
As well as ducks, there are many activities are available to do nearby, including boating and mini-golf.
However, those who fancy a nice stroll can do so at their own leisure, and take in the picturesque lake teeming with wildlife.
8. Royal Victoria Country Park, Netley
A quiet and tranquil place to go for a stroll in the spring.
This country park features a pond called Sophie's Pond, tucked away at the entrance of the park, home to a large variety of wildlife, be sure to keep your eyes peeled for ducks.
9. Rockford Lake, Ringwood
Another fine circular trail, with a distance of 3.4km and taking an average of 46 minutes to complete.
This 'easy' trail goes through woodlands and countryside, and there is a high chance of spotting ducks on your journey.
10. New Forest Wildlife Park, Ashurst
This may be cheating, as ducks aren't necessarily the main attraction here, but it is impossible not to include the New Forest on this list.
The New Forest Wildlife Park, as you can imagine, is home to a number of different animals including Owls, Badgers and even Lynx, but it also has a large pond where you can stroll alongside and visit the resident ducks.
