Winchester Women Graduates marked International Women’s Day with a talk from the CEO of Migrants Organise.
Zrinka Bralo, a journalist who has been advocating for refugee and human rights since she was exiled from Sarajevo in 1993, fronts the organisation which provides a platform for refugees and migrants.
Migrants Organise strives to combine organising, which is an approach to social and political change, with campaigning and mobilisation.

Zrinka spoke about current issues surrounding immigration, and how women in particular are affected. She was joined by Nanou Thassinda, a graduate who has been in the asylum system for many years and unable to work due to her asylum status.
Nanou has been doing vital volunteer work, but is often challenged by the limits set to her, feeling as if she is in an ‘open prison’.
The talk was held in the Hampshire Record Office, with members of the British Federation of Women Graduates watching via a Zoom meeting, connecting women across Britain.
