A series of free events to mark International Women’s Day on March 8 will take place next week celebrating and empowering women entrepreneurs throughout the south.
The events in Hampshire, Bristol and Exeter have been organised by NatWest and will bring together leading women business leaders from the regions to talk about their journeys in enterprise as well as roundtables and networking opportunities with like-minded peers.
On March 8, at Southampton’s Doubletree Hilton Hotel, NatWest has joined forces with finance director specialists Avonglen to bring together the inspirational women leaders who are shaping the future of business in the south west.
The same day NatWest’s Bristol Entrepreneur Accelerator at Trinity Quay will play host to guest speaker Amber Probyn, co-founder of Peequal – the company trailblazing women urinals.
The event will also feature roundtable sessions where guests will be able to discuss what it’s like being a woman in business and what steps they think are needed to help support women entrepreneurs.
On March 7, at Exeter Golf and County Club, NatWest has teamed up with BIPC Devon to bring together three inspiring women CEOs who will share their stories and insights of being a woman at the top.
Amanda Stansfield, CEO of multi-award-winning artisan ice cream producers Granny Gothards; Stacey Sheppard, a notable interior design blogger and founder of the female co-working space The Tribe; and PR and marketing expert Sarah Jepson who is the founder of female networking community Six Degrees Brand, will all share their journeys in business.
All three events, which include refreshments, will feature findings and insights from the latest publication of the Rose Review, which has been led by NatWest Group’s Alison Rose.
The review into female entrepreneurship was launched in 2019 and this year outlines new initiatives to help more women to start and build thriving businesses. In 2022, more women in the UK founded more businesses than ever before, despite immense economic uncertainty.
