STRIVING to become sustainable is a goal of almost every business these days.
The Sustainable Business award, sponsored by Winchester University, will be looking for a business that has demonstrated how they have reduced the impact of their business on the environment in two or more of the following areas: green product innovation, emission of greenhouse gases, energy consumption, water consumption, production of waste and improving recycling rates, sustainable supply chain and procurement, transport impact of their goods or services, staff development and training on environmental impact.
Do you know someone like this? If so, you can nominate them.
Sarah Moore-Williams, dean of the faculty of business and digital technologies at Winchester University, said: “We are proud to sponsor the Sustainable Business Award again in 2023 to celebrate successful businesses with the focus of sustainability. Embedding sustainability into the core operations of business and innovations demonstrates a commitment to making the world a better place. We, at the University of Winchester, hold these values in high esteem and we look forward seeing the entries and to making this award to one of our local businesses.
“At the heart of our values-driven University is a passion and commitment to achieving a better and more sustainable future for all.
“Our dedication to sustainability is reflected in the University’s strategy and embedded across the institution through our learning and teaching, research, knowledge exchange and culture.
“We are an exemplar of environmental sustainability and are committed to reducing our environmental impact through sustainable management, achieving net zero and reducing our consumption of natural resources. Our new West Downs Centre embodies our values and aims to achieve the WELL Building Standard that certifies and monitors features that impact human health and wellness in the built environment.”
