I’M delighted to report the Labour Party in Winchester has selected a full slate of candidates for the upcoming local elections. We were out in St Luke’s knocking on doors this weekend and it was great to hear many residents on the doorstep confirming their support for Labour.
With Labour councillors elected in Oxford, Cambridge, Canterbury and Wokingham and, Labour polling in the high 40s nationally, it’s time we said good bye to the Lib Dem’s silly graph that says “Labour can’t win here”. Let’s also not forget it was the LibDems who helped begin the age of austerity in 2010. The Tories simply can’t win back control of the city council this May, and so we ask every Labour supporter to ditch the Lib Dems and back their Labour Party candidate in 2023.
We deserve a fairer, greener Winchester, and Labour is ready to help make that happen here this May.
Peter Marsh,
Chair,
Winchester & Chandler's Ford Labour Party
