AN up-and-coming Hampshire pub company has taken on a new venue.
Henderson Pub Co, which was founded in 2022 by directors Chris and Nicola Schutrups, is taking over The Cricketers in Alresford.
The venue has been closed while the new tenants move in. The husband and wife team hope to re-open the pub in Jacklyns Lane on Easter Weekend.
Henderson Pub Co began with The Hunters Inn in Romsey and has since purchased and invested in seven more businesses including, The Dolphin Inn in Hursley and The Olive Tree and Figurati in Southampton, with further plans to expand its portfolio this year.

Mr and Mrs Schutrups believe their business shows how “poor performing hospitality businesses can be turned into customer-focused pillars of their communities”.
Managing director Mr Schutrups said: “The Cricketers in an incredible business which has a huge amount of potential. Our plan is to invest in the property and offer a food led, family-friendly, dog-friendly venue which is at the heart of the community which it serves.
“We already have an experienced team ready to start at The Cricketers who have a proven track record of creating amazing experiences for our customers.
“Henderson Pub Co promotes itself as using local suppliers where possible and ensuring that all food is home cooked by their team of chefs across the group.”

Last year the company donated more than £10,000 to local causes via its pubs in Hursley and Romsey and so the team is looking forward to continuing its charitable effort at The Cricketers.
Both Chris and Nicola have said coming to Alresford is the most exciting opportunity yet on their journey.
However, the pair have not always been so comfortable behind the bar, with Chris having a background used in running a large technology business while Nicola is accustomed to working with British Airways.
