EIGHT people from Hampshire have been fined for travelling on trains without paying for a ticket.
Seven of the defendants' cases were heard at Portsmouth Magistrates' Court, with one at North Somerset Magistrates' Court, in the past 30 days.
They all received fines ranging from £45 to £488.30 for travelling on the railway without a valid ticket.
The following were all found guilty under the single justice procedure;
- Jack Waghorn, 30, of Wilberforce Close, Stanmore, Winchester;
- Spencer Angus, 20, of Ebden Road, Winnall, Winchester;
- Alex Rodriguez, 21, of Milverton Road, Weeke, Winchester;
- Sarah Lee, 30, of Fox Lane, Stanmore, Winchester;
- Alex Fyfe, 27, of Harestock Road, Harestock, Winchester;
- Shay Ostley, 25, of Bar End Road, Bar End, Winchester;
- Oliver Beer, 30, of Gordon Road, Winchester;
- Dean Dainton, 40, of St Blaize Road, Romsey.

Waghorn was made to pay a £220 fine, £160 costs, £88 victim surcharge and compensation of £20.30 to pay before March 8, totalling £488.30, when he appeared on February 8. He was caught at Winchester on a First MTR South Western train on August 11.
Angus was given a £220 fine, £160 costs, £88 victim surcharge and compensation of £7.70 to pay, totalling £475.70 when he appeared on January 31. He was caught on August 9 at Southampton Central.
Rodriguez was given a £220 fine, and must pay £160 costs, £88 victim surcharge and £3.40 compensation, totalling £471.40 on January 31. He was caught on August 9 at Shawford.
On February 6, Lee was handed a £220 fine, £160 costs, £88 victim surcharge and compensation of £8.80, totalling £476.80. She was caught on July 18 at Totton.
Also appearing on the same date, Fyfe was given a £40 fine and compensation of £5, totalling £45. He was caught on July 15 at Winchester.

Ostley was handed a £220 fine, £160 costs, £88 victim surcharge and compensation of £5.60, totalling £473.60 also on February 6. He was caught on August 4 at Fratton.
Beer was fined £220, £180 costs, £88 victim surcharge and compensation of £66.80, totalling £554.80, on February 17. He was the only defendant from this list to appear at North Somerset Magistrates' Court. He was caught on July 26 at Salisbury.
Dainton was given a £220 fine, £160 costs, £88 victim surcharge and £7 compensation totalling £475, on February 6. He was caught on August 7 at Dean.
There is no suggestion that the individuals are in any way linked.
