A MAN who smashed two Winchester city centre shop windows has been jailed for two month.
Andrew Downard, 28, of no fixed abode, damaged a window at Rohan and Pavilion Clothing, next to each other in The Square, on January 27.
Both windows were valued at around £2,000, a court heard.
Doward admitted both charges when he appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on Wednesday February 15.
The Bench said the offences were so serious that only a custodial sentence can be justified and that Downard offended whilst subject to a community order.
They also ordered Downard pay £500 compensation, which must be paid by April 15.
He had been in custody since his arrest shortly after the offences.
