A PHYSIOTHERAPIST is celebrating the start of his career and the expansion of the Winchester-based clinic he works at.
Winchester Wellness was founded by physiotherapists Kris Smith and Lucy Bransgrove in 2016 and began at an office in Westgate, with just two of them. Now, the business has tripled its workforce, expanded its services and moved into a new home.
This year, staff have continued to help out at events such as Winchester off-road half marathon and a running event for Naomi House and Jacksplace.
Physiotherapist Ralph Gerard graduated from Winchester University last year and joined the team in September at their base in Kings Worthy. The early career physiotherapist was out in the cold on January 22 to provide sports massage and injury advice to competitors of the Winchester off-road half marathon.

Ralph, 21, said: “Our success is down to a balance of reputation and a growing demand for the service. People are really grateful that we offer a range of services to benefit their health and lifestyle, all within one place. The business is ever-growing.
“People are still really keen on their health post-Covid, with health care heightening after the pandemic.”
The service offers physiotherapy, osteopathy, pilates, acupuncture, massage and other complementary therapies from Woodhams Farm New Barn off Springvale Road.
Additionally, Winchester Wellness now welcomes other businesses to use its facilities for sessions such as dance rehabilitation.

Ralph moved from London to Winchester City Centre and is currently working towards a master's degree in rehabilitation while working at the clinic.
He added: “The team have been really great in supporting me here. It’s amazing to have been offered a private health care opportunity.”
Most recently, the clinic welcomed a new dietician to the team to provide a more dynamic health service.
