Wickham Community Land Trust (WCLT) has announced that, in January, it took ownership of its eighteenth affordable home for local people with the purchase of ten new homes at Wykeham Vale.
To celebrate the acquisitions, the board of the CLT held two open days at Wykeham Vale.
The first was for local residents to show them the quality of the new homes, ask questions and learn more about how they can support the work.
The second was for funders and civic leaders from district and local councils. The trust received financial support from Winchester City Council, South Downs National Park and local donors, especially the Warwick family, that enabled them to make the purchases possible by keeping commercial loans to a manageable level.

All the Wykeham Vale homes, and eight more at Houghton Gardens, have been let to families and individuals with strong local connections through work, family or community with Wickham and Knowle, all at affordable rents.
Wickham CLT is unique in Hampshire and was the first CLT in the South East.
WCLT has launched Friends of Wickham Community Land Trust to enable local people to keep in touch with the Trust’s progress and support its work.
