A WINCHESTER estate agent will be relocating 'very shortly'.
Hamptons, currently at 72 High Street, is preparing to move to 51 High Street.
The empty unit was formerly occupied by Joules, a British clothing and footwear brand, which permanently closed the doors to its Winchester branch in September.
Hamptons, which has been based in their current unit for more than 25 years, revealed they took the opportunity to relocate into the high profile premises, with the corner position of the property allowing them 'the best estate agency windows in Winchester' on both St Thomas Street and the High Street.
A Hamptons spokesman said: “We are very excited for this move and looking forward to opening our new branch shortly.

“An opportunity came up for a prime site that suited the business objectives of creating a flagship shop front in the high street for the growing team. We have expanded the operation to include all disciplines under one roof so sales, lettings, property management and new homes. This will also become the southern regional hub used for presentations and internal and external meetings.
“With the new premises there is a huge opportunity given they’re the best windows in Winchester for an estate agent and that was the initial attraction for moving.
“We will be the only agents who will be on the pedestrian part of the High Street. It’s one thing that will enable us to offer future clients the best platform to promote their properties because they genuinely are the best estate agency windows in Winchester.
“We have invested huge amounts of time to ensure a smooth transition from our current office and to ensure there is no disturbance for our clients. The current office will remain open at 72 High Street until the new office is ready for us to move into which will happen seamlessly.”
The Hamptons Winchester branch will be expanding and the team will be growing with 23 employees currently moving to the new premises.
They have estimated development on the High Street unit will be completed by Mid-February but an exact date is still to be confirmed.
