A FLOOD warning for a Hampshire river has been removed by the Environment Agency.
Yesterday morning at 9.20am an alert was issued for Monks Brook that runs from Chandler's Ford through Eastleigh to Swaythling in Southampton. But at 3.45pm it was removed with agency experts assessing the threat was reducing.
The agency had first said: "Flooding is possible in this area. Monitor local water levels and weather conditions. Avoid using low lying footpaths or entering areas prone to flooding. Start acting on your flood plan if you have one. The Environment Agency Flood Warning System has issued this message based on rising river or tidal levels. We are temporarily automating our messages due to industrial action."
Meanwhile, the level of the River Itchen on The Weirs is rising with the water starting to lap over the side of the embankment.

There are still alerts in place in the Meon Valley for groundwater flooding whereby water rises up through the chalk rock and affects properties from below.
The agency says groundwater flooding in the Meon Valley from East Meon to Soberton: "Flooding is possible in this area. Monitor local groundwater levels and weather conditions. Take care in areas prone to flooding. Start acting on your flood plan if you have one. Check pumps and any other flood protection equipment you may have. The Environment Agency Flood Warning System has issued this message based on rising groundwater levels. We are temporarily automating our messages due to industrial action."
Communities at risk are East Meon, West Meon, Warnford, Exton, Corhampton, Meonstoke, Droxford and Soberton.
A flood alert about possible danger has also been issued for Wallop Brook from Over Wallop to Bossington in the Test Valley.
Warnings saying flooding is expected have been issued for the River Avon between Salisbury and Ringwood and Salisbury city centre at The Close and St Nicholas Road.
