A FORMER Post Office in Winchester still stands empty after it closed over one year ago.
The old Upper High Street Post Office, also known as The News Shop, has been empty for over a year and residents are hoping to see the unoccupied unit filled soon.
The former Post Office branch was closed in November 2021, due to the resignation of the postmaster.
Michael Jahn, a local resident, said: "It was an extremely useful service for many years and they had extremely helpful and friendly staff there, The only other Post Office is in WH Smith and there are often long queues. I know many would like to see service restored to that part of the city."

In July last year, the Hampshire Chronicle reported that refurbishment was underway at the property. Currently, the outside of the shop appears to have been refurbished but the inside is still empty, there is still a Goadsby ‘To Let’ sign in the window.
