A NEW dean is joining the University of Winchester as the head of business and digital technologies, as well as the director of the business school.

Sarah Moore-Williams will be joining the university’s faculty on March 6. 

She will be moving from London South Bank University, where she is currently the dean of its business school.

Ms Moore-Williams said: "I look forward to joining the University of Winchester faculty of business and digital technologies and to leading the team to further develop a thriving and successful community of practice, with real world impact, life changing opportunities, and growth for all."

Professor Sarah Greer, the vice-chancellor of the University of Winchester, said: "We are excited to be welcoming Sarah Moore-Williams at this exciting period of development for the University of Winchester. We look forward to working with her as she helps to shape the future of a faculty which is so important to the university and which makes such a significant contribution to the life of the city of Winchester.”

Ms Moore-Williams joins the university with 15 years worth of experience in higher education. She also has experience with accounting, governance and operational roles across the UK and Europe in the oil and gas industry, Lloyds of London and telecommunications.

She is chair of the Southwark Chamber of Commerce, a member of the advisory committee of the Institute of Enterprise and Entrepreneurs and sits on the assessment review panel of the Institute of Governance.

Professor Greer said: "Sarah brings a tremendous amount of sector experience and a track record of supporting growth and attainment through future fit and employer led curricula. She will develop a culture of innovation and support for colleagues, students and partners."

The faculty of business and digital technologies, incorporating the Winchester Business School, currently has around 80 staff members and 1,300 students. It teaches and researches in the areas of business management, marketing, event management, accountancy and finance, and computer science.
