A WATER supply company has given a £10,000 grant to a Hampshire charity which offers support to young people.
The grant has been given as part of Southern Water’s community grants scheme, with five grants of £10,000 being awarded to regional charities working to support improved outcomes for young people.
Five partners were chosen, one from each of Southern Water’s operational areas, with the awards including support through employee volunteering, expertise sharing and partnership opportunities over an 18 month-long partnership.
In Hampshire, the grant was awarded to No Limits, which provides support to approximately 7,000 children and young people in Southampton and Hampshire each year.

The charity offers a universal, open access drop-in service at its advice centre and through weekly health and wellbeing drop-ins at schools and colleges.
Its non-judgemental approach enables them to meet the needs of the most deprived, vulnerable and isolated young people who often do not access mainstream services.
The grant will be used to support the work club, which provides support to find training, volunteering, or a paid role for young people.
Young people also receive holistic support via the advice centre and this continues for 12 months after the young people enter employment.
A spokesperson for No Limits said: “We are so grateful to have been awarded this generous grant from Southern Water.

“Finding employment is a fundamental stepping stone for many of the vulnerable young people we support and, with this grant, we will be able to provide emotional and practical support to help young people achieve that step, building their confidence and giving them skills they need to succeed in the workplace.”
Southern Water’s community partnerships and programme manager Alex Willumsen said: “Our on-going Community Grant programme recognises the importance of providing support for young people in our region and the ripple effect that may have for communities.
“Through new partnerships over the following 18 months we hope to support and learn alongside our charity partners and support the incredible work they do with this age group.”
Other grant recipients include Community Supporters in East Sussex, Waterside Community Trust on the Isle of Wight, Dover Smart Project in Kent and AudioActive in West Sussex.
