CUSTOMERS are facing restrictions on the purchase of eggs in supermarkets across Winchester.
The Hampshire Chronicle found a three-box limit in Aldi in Weeke. However, Waitrose in Weeke, Sainsbury’s in Badger’s Farm and Tesco in Winnall don’t have a limit.
Supplies have also run into issues with bird flu. Shops like Aldi are following government advice, ensuring that their eggs are coming from free range hens housed in a barn to reduce the risk of bird flu.

Tesco shopper, Anna Rochford said: “I like organic eggs and I can’t get hold of them, which is frustrating.”
Clive Fordham looked through the empty boxes and said: “It is what it is, there are still eggs, but my preferred eggs, it's rare that I can get them, so I have to make do with others that aren’t perhaps quite as nice.”
