WINCHESTER motorists will have six road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

And two of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that five closures already in place are expected to carry on this week.

  • M27, from 8pm October 15 2022 to 6am January 11 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M27 eastbound, junction 7 to junction 9, Lane closures for Hampshire County Council.
  • A303, from 8pm October 29 2022 to 6pm January 15 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A303 eastbound, Overton, Lane closure for Hampshire County Council, diversion via National Highways and local authority network.

  • M3, from 9pm December 9 2020 to 6am January 17 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 northbound and southbound, junction 10, slip road closures for M3 Smart Motorways, diversion via local authority and National Highways network.
  • M27, from 6am November 8 2021 to 6am May 19 2024, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M3 northbound and southbound, junction 9 to 14, Narrow lanes and 50mph for Concrete barrier scheme.
  • M27, from 8pm November 7 2021 to 6am October 12 2024, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M3 northbound and southbound, junction 9 to junction 14, Lane closures for M3 Concrete barrier Scheme.

Finally, one more closure will begin over the next seven days:

  • M27, from 8pm January 14 to 6am February 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M27 eastbound, junction 7 to junction 9, Lane closures for Hampshire County Council.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
