A FAMILY-RUN pub in Droxford has been taken over by a new landlord with more than 25 years of experience.

Paul Jenner and his family moved into The White Horse Inn in South Hill last October following the previous landlords being there for eight years.

Shekhar and Alex Nailwal left at the end of September after they admitted to 'running out of answers' for the recent cost of living crisis.

They served Indian cuisine and operated a takeaway service. Now, Paul, 51, has returned the pub to serving more traditional meals.

Paul has taken over the pub with his family. Wife Lisa and children Jack, Sophie and David.

Paul said: “Our running costs are much lower than the previous landlords. We're completely different. We're serving British food like steak; fish and chips; and ham, egg and chips.

“People can come in to play pool, darts and watch the football. However, business has been very slow. 

“It's a family pub, we welcome everyone. It's a quiet local, we've made it what it used to be. 

“We're not trying to reinvent the wheel. I've been in the trade for 27 years.”

Lisa, 41, runs a flower business and often sells the flowers from the pub.
