A HOME care provider, based near Winchester, has gone viral on TikTok, surpassing the number of views that some celebrities get.

The video created by Whispers Care in Colden Common sees staff attempt to solve a riddle and now has more than 4m views and nearly 60,000 likes.

Since posting the video in November, views have risen by a million week on week, a “mind-blowing” feat to staff. The post was the care company’s fourth-ever TikTok attempt, after joining the platform in August to engage with the growing number of young employees who use it daily.

Marketing manager Sean Brewer said: “It was one of those silly little throwaway things and it just exploded. It’s mind-blowing how many views we got - more exposure than some of Britain’s biggest music stars.

“We launched it on a Thursday and by Saturday morning it had a quarter of a million views and it’s not slowing down. We’re really excited about it and it should open a lot of doors for the business and its exposure.

“It helps to generate more recruitment but most importantly it’s the engagement and the buzz with the staff wanting to get involved. It’s a feel-good thing for the company all round.

“The big plus for us is that our staff are our lifeblood so if there’s something that we can shout about we’re all about putting our staff front and centre for the world to see.”

Whispers Care, based Leylands Business Park, hopes to inspire other businesses to boost their online presence. Mr Brewer believes the secret behind their success was leaving the answer reveal until the end of the video so viewers would keep watching.

He said: “When we started almost six years ago we didn’t have much of an online footprint and we've worked really hard since then because as a business in this day and age you need a digital presence.

“This was our first proper go at doing a TikTok where we actually thought through what might work. It goes to show that even if you’re a small business there’s still an audience out there that wants to see what you’re up to.”

Staff have been preparing for the big Christmas video drop on Friday, December 23 which will show employees dancing along to Driving Home for Christmas by Chris Rea.

Whispers Care employs around 120 people, with around half taking part in the Christmas video. The company provides home and complex care to people living in Hampshire, Dorset and West Sussex. For more go to whisperscomplexcare.co.uk/.
