A GOURMET kebab restaurant has opened in Winchester, creating around 40 jobs.
German Doner Kebab (GDK) opened at 9-11 High Street on Saturday, December 17 with the hope of bringing a fast-casual dining experience to the area.
The new food outlet is the brand’s, 33rd UK restaurant this year, and 123rd UK restaurant in total.
German Doner Kebab is aiming to revolutionise the kebab with fresh, high quality ingredients including meats, local vegetables and handmade toasted breads, prepared in front of customers who can opt to dine in or takeaway.

The restaurant menu will feature the brand’s new Coco & Kiki kebabs, the UK’s first pink kebabs. The products are served in fluffy pink coconut-infused waffle bread, in two different sizes (Coco and Kiki) and are combined with doner meats, fresh lettuce, tomato, onion and red cabbage, to combine nutty sweetness and the trademark GDK savoury flavours.
GDK Global COO, Daniel Bunce, said: “We’re so excited to officially open our restaurant in Winchester and bring the unique German Doner Kebab taste experience to the city.
“Our game-changing kebabs are revolutionising the kebab in the UK and we are delighted to be offering a new casual dining experience to the people of Winchester with our great tasting fresh food in a relaxed and modern environment.”
The Winchester branch is open seven days a week from 11am-11pm.
