AN event called 'A brew and a book' will be returning to Colden Common next year.
They are usually held on the last Thursday of each month at Colden Common Community Centre, from 2pm-4pm.
After taking a break in December, it will be next held on January 26 and then on February 23.
They are open to everyone. People can enjoy some company, have a hot drink and have a browse at the second hand books.

TICKETS for Otterbourne Theatre Company's family pantomime are now on sale.
They will be performing Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, on January 13, 14, 20, 21 and 22 at 7.30pm with 2.30pm shows on January 14, 15, 21 and 22, at Otterbourne Village Hall.
Tickets cost £10 each and available online from www.otterbournetheatre.com or through the group's Facebook page.
On the group's website, it said: “We've got a fantastic script, the largest cast we've had for a few years and lots of energy to entertain you.
“We have maintained the reduced seating capacity in the hall, with your comfort and safety in mind.”

A TWYFORD church is holding its Christingle service on Christmas Eve.
St Mary's Church is hosting the service on December 24, at 3pm.
A collection will be taken in aid of The Children's Society.
A message from the church said: “Christingle is a joyful celebration that brings families and communities together to share the light of Jesus and spread a message of hope.”
This will be its first Christingle service in two years. 

A CARE home is hosting Singing for the Brain events.
The Community Hub at Brendoncare, Otterbourne Hill, have events until March. 
It's aimed at people with dementia so they can sing songs they know in a friendly environment. They also do vocal exercises that help improve the brain activity and wellbeing. 
The events are free, however they do require booking in advance.
They will be held on January 5 and 19, February 2 and 16 and March 2, 16 and 30, from 10am-11.30am

COLDEN Common's school cycle bus is planning to bring Santa around the village for the residents to see him pass by.
His sleigh is currently being built at the C.C. shed. The date is to coincide with the Village Christmas Carol event at the Rising Sun car park.
Further details will follow with a route map. The date is scheduled to be December 23 at 4.30pm.

COMMON Home from Home takes place on Wednesday evenings in Colden Common. The events are in the Jenny Gray Room of Colden Common Community Centre, from 6.30pm-8.30pm.
There is the opportunity to discuss your energy bills and ways of saving money.
This could also be followed up with a home visit for an informal survey and potentially help to form a home energy plan for the future.

A GARDENING club is being set up to meet in Twyford Community Centre.
The aim is to meet monthly so that people can discuss their interests, exchange ideas, share plants and seeds and buy gardening materials in bulk. Contact Ralph Scaiff on ralphscaiff@gmail.com.

THE Friends of Owslebury School raised more than £1,000 it its recent Christmas Fayre.
A spokesman from the group said: “A huge 'thank you' from the Friends of Owslebury School to everyone who came and enjoyed the festivities at our Christmas Fayre on December 3. 
“You helped us raise just over £1,000 for our little school and hopefully won a bottle or a box of something lovely!
