STARS from Portsmouth Football Club have visited Naomi House & Jacksplace to spread some festive football cheer.

Team manager Danny Cowley was joined by captain Clark Robertson and players Joe Rafferty and Michael Morrison to meet with the young adults at the hospices.

After speaking with everyone, including staff and parents, the players gifted everyone a signed football as a present.

A special highlight of the visit was that Portsmouth FC fan Pete was visiting the hospice at the same time, allowing him the chance to meet the players and receive photos and a signed shirt from the team.

Pete’s shared life carers Andy and Lyn reflected: “The visit meeting Portsmouth Football Club was a great chance for Pete to interact with his favourite team.

“He thoroughly enjoyed the time they spent talking to him.

“He has been very fortunate to meet them five times now at Jacksplace over the years, now challenging the times Andy has met the team, who as a former season ticket holder introduced Pete to the best team on the south coast!

“His signed shirt will take pride of place in his bedroom, with his other shirts, ball and pendant.”

Prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, it was an annual Christmas tradition for the team to come and spend time with the families visiting.
