AN Alresford-based catering company has started a monthly pop-up restaurant in the town’s church hall.
Martha Hollis started the pop-up restaurant in November 2022, hosting a meal at the John Pearson Hall on November 19.
Matt Gisby, who co-owns the company with his wife Rachel, explained: “We do a lot of events during the summer, and we do a bit during the shooting season, but we wanted to do a bit in Alresford for people who aren’t getting married or shooting.”
He continued: “We sold out our first one, and everyone had a great time; all the food was excellent.

“So, we’re sort of doing November, December, January, then I think we’ll do it bi-monthly going forwards with some outdoor venues in the summer, some barbeque cookery and some outdoor cookery as well”.
The next pop-up restaurant will take place on December 17.
Starting at 7pm and lasting until 11pm, attendees will be treated to a festive four-course meal, served on trestle tables offering a communal dining experience.
A bar will be set up during the evening, offering a range of drinks and wines to complement the meal.
An up-and-coming local musician will provide music and entertainment during the evening.
Places cost £55 and must be booked in advance, with £5 of every ticket going to Winchester Basics Bank.
Matt said: “So, £5 for every ticket we’re going to make a donation, and we’ll top it up ourselves.
“We’ve done a bit of food for the shelter down in Winchester, we might do a restaurant for them in the future, but it’s just to support people who need a bit of help at the moment with meals, looking after them a bit.
“It should be pre-Christmas, so it should be a good time to do it.”
