AN ORGANISATION will be using Winchester Christmas Market to champion Hampshire food and drink businesses with a new business hosting a chalet nearly every day.
From Sunday, December 4 a rota of producers will be running Hampshire Fare’s chalet at the market in Winchester Cathedral’s Inner Close. Businesses include a variety of local producers mainly consisting of breweries and distilleries.
Commercial Manager of Hampshire Fare, Tracy Nash, said: “Our hope is that having this experience for just one day at the Christmas market will spur producers on and give them the confidence to take a chalet themselves for a longer period at next year’s market.

“From our producers’ perspective it is about investing in the city, and from Hampshire Fare’s it is about building business in Hampshire at Winchester’s Christmas Market. People love local products. For the visitor to the Christmas Market nothing is lovelier than seeing something that is made and produced in the region.
“We can only give our members this opportunity because we are a community interest, not for profit organisation providing support to food and drink businesses across the county. We threw out this opportunity to take over the Hampshire Fare Christmas chalet for a day to all our producer members. They came back to us if they were interested, and we scheduled the rota accordingly.”
