The Winchester-based Friends of King Alfred Buses has confirmed details of the services it will operate on January 1.
Whilst in keeping with the policy of recent years, The Original King Alfred Running Day will be in the spring on Bank Holiday May 1, a smaller operation involving at least six King Alfred vehicles and two visiting buses will take place on New Year's Day.

This will maintain a long-established tradition and provide a service for the many supporters who would still like to travel on these historic buses during the winter. As usual, the bus services will be centred on The Broadway in Winchester with the first journey leaving at 9.15am and the last at 4.20pm.
A full timetable will be available and copies may be obtained in advance by post from: Friends of King Alfred Buses, 13 Ashley Close, Winchester, SO22 6LR.
Price: £5 by post, cheques payable to ‘Friends of King Alfred Buses’.
