A HAMPSHIRE country pub has applied for a refurbishment, including an outdoor bar.
The Cart and Horses, in Kings Worthy, has submitted a planning application for exterior works, a replacement kitchen extract and a ventilation system.
The scheme has had three objections who want it to stay as it is.
The application, submitted by Helen Binns, is for a pergola; dining pod; external bar; new areas of hard surfacing; extension of an external seating area to the front; replacement kitchen extract and ventilation system.
The applicant has had to send two applications to Winchester City Council as the pub is a listed building.
On the planning statement, it said: “This application follows a previous application 12 months ago and seeks to update the programme of works proposed at the site following a decision to change the brand that occupies the premises from Chef and Brewer to Crafted Pubs.
“The proposed works are minor in nature but are necessary to ensure the premises meet customer demand for good quality outdoor space and facilitate the refurbishment of the premises and change from the Chef and Brewer brand to the Crafted Pub brand.
"The works are considered acceptable from a design perspective, they do not harm the significance of the listed building and its setting or detract from the conservation area, and they will not give rise to any additional and unacceptable amenity impacts. The works also do not have an adverse impact on ecology and will improve car parking provision at the site.”

Anne Blues, of Bessemer Road, Basingstoke, said: “I strongly object to this.
“This is a lovely country pub for local people and people from all over the UK. People travel far and wide to go to this pub because it is liked very much.
“The staff are friendly, assertive, kind and the returning customers visit this pub for this reason and many more, everyone would miss this pub just the way it is currently.”
Louise Conroy, of London Road, said: “We would like it to be conditioned that the ventilation plant will be consistently turned off completely by 11.30pm. We would like it to be conditioned so that any external lights are completely turned off by 11.30pm.
“We would like to be reassured that no music will be played in the external areas, without an event licence, and that patrons are encouraged to go back into the pub after 11pm.”
Allie Butler, of May Tree Close, said: “I do not want any changes.”
