A WINCHESTER karate club is organising a unique fundraiser for a national charity.
Winchester Karate Club is raising money for BBC Children in Need by doing the 100 kata.
The club is based at Winchester Tennis Club in Bereweeke Road and is run by Nigel Hosking, from Titchfield.
The 100 kata is an intense karate routine which takes between two and three hours to complete.
The fundraiser will be held on November 18 at the club. Nigel recently competed the 100 kata himself in support of the Captain Tom Appeal.

Nigel said: “The club is unique, I have been training for 35 years. Around 22 years ago, I went to Japan for some training.
“Started the club in February. We're based at Winchester Tennis Club and any money we raise is donated to Naomi House.
“The club is doing really well. We have about six regulars at the moment.
“The 100 kata takes between two and three hours, it really messes your brain up.
“I set an original target of £100, but we raised that quite quickly so I've moved it up to £500.”
Children in Need funds more than 2,500 local charities and projects across the UK.
