SCORES of people gathered to remember those who have given their lives in service on Remembrance Sunday.
On Sunday, November 13, Bishop Debbie Sellin and Dean Catherine Ogle led the Remembrance Day Service at Winchester Cathedral.
At 10am Custos rang the bell to signal the start of the service, which began with the choir introit: ‘They shall not grow old as we who are left grow old,’ and continues with familiar music and readings.
Shortly before 11am, the congregation joined the hundreds gathered outside in the Outer Close for the official two minutes silence.
Wreaths were laid at the War Memorial by dozens of local groups and associations, as well as Steve Brine MP for Winchester, led by Admiral Iain Henderson, Vice-Lord Lieutenant, representing His Majesty the King.
