PREPARATIONS for the Littleton Posada have begun. Every December knitted figures of Mary, Joseph and nativity farm animals travel around the village to various hosts. Last year the journey raised £650 for The Toybox Charity and now organiser Carol Coleman is once again on the search for willing hosts for the woolly visitors, to help the charity support street children around the world. KING’S Burrow Nursery, in Harestock, is searching for postcards from around the world to help the children learn about different countries around the world. The nursery is urging people to send a postcard from where they are “no matter how far away” to say hi. Postcards should be sent to King’s Burrow Nursery & Preschool, Henry Beaufort School, Priors Dean Rd, Harestock, Winchester, SO22 6LB.
SPARSHOLT University Centre is hosting a cookery class at Lainston House in Woodman Lane on Monday, November 28. Participants will have the opportunity
SPARSHOLT College has successfully bred Vulturine Guineafowl for the first time at its new Animal Health and Welfare Research Centre. Five eggs have hatched without issues and all five chicks are healthy and getting stronger each day. The educational facility recently featured on BBC South Today for the official opening of the research centre which was attended by Princess Anne.
THE Christmas market is back at Sparsholt Village Hall on Sunday, December 4 from 10am until 2pm. Mobile pottery painting business The Painted Dragonfly and writer and artist Alison Webb will be among the stallholders.
ITCHEN Abbas Primary School is hosting its Christmas Fair on Saturday, December 3 from 2-4.30pm in the Village Hall. The event will feature a cafe, raffle, meet Father Christmas, and games. For more information email admin@itchenabbas.org.uk
KINGS Worthy Parish Council litter pick is set to tidy up the area on Saturday, November 19. Volunteers, meeting at Tubbs Hall, Kings Worthy Community Centre, will be working from 2-4pm. Refreshments and equipment will be provided and all children must be accompanied by an adult. For more information contact clerk@kingsworthy-pc.co.uk.
THE parish council is also looking for a new deputy clerk to join the team and provide administrative support. Working from Kings Worthy Community Centre, key duties include preparing agendas and papers for meetings and taking minutes and assisting the parish clerk as well as stepping in as required.

EASTON Village Hall has revealed this year’s family pantomime performed by the Easton Players. Cinderella will be on show from December 14 to 16 at 7.30pm and on Saturday, December 17 at 2pm and 6pm. AFTER the success of the Worthy Players Spring production ‘Cash on Delivery’ and a well-deserved summer break, the Players are ready to present their latest pantomime production Panto Trek - where sci-fi meets traditional panto. While carrying out its duties, the spaceship ‘Cut Price’ is forced to land on the planet Panto 9. The crew meet a variety of pantomime characters and are drawn into their challenges with the evil twin Emperors Ming and Ping.
This original pantomime directed and produced by the Worthy's very own David & Alison Woolford was originally co-written by them with Nick & Mel Boatwright.
Tickets are now on sale via the Worthy Players website theworthyplayers.co.uk. All performances will be at The Jubilee Hall, Kings Worthy, on Dece,ber 2, 3, 9 and 10. Performances at 2.30pm and at 7.30pm.
