Sir Harold Hillier Gardens in Romsey is introducing an immersive outdoor light art trail this festive season.

The attraction starts on Thursday, November 24 and runs until Saturday, December 31.

The woodlands and meadows will be illuminated by a series of art installations created by some of Europe's most skilled light artists and designers using millions of LED lights.

Hampshire-based designers, Light Up Trails, specialise in bringing magic in light to distinguished locations. They work with artists, technologists, and producers to create unforgettable Christmas experiences.

Libby Battaglia, director of Light Up Trails, said: “Sir Harold Hillier Gardens is an inspirational place, a true showcase of the natural world, so it's a real privilege to accentuate that natural beauty with light."

The trail will include a series of installations throughout the 180-acre arboretum. These include: Christmas Elves, an animated Christmas story created by award-winning light artist Ross Ashton that will be projected onto the walls of the house Jermyn's House.

Fashion and lighting designer James Smith has created a breathtaking panoramic projection of the Himalayan Valley, telling the story of the four seasons in coloured lights.

Hampshire Chronicle:

Classic winter warmer treats will be on offer at the Light Up Trails Bar. From roasted marshmallows to hearty hot chocolate and mulled wine gently infused with herbs and spices, there's sure to be something for everyone.

Light Up Trails' co-director Lucinda Croft added: "We're aiming to make it a truly memorable happening, not only with the awesome creativity of the illuminations but also creating a delight for all the senses with music and our deliciously seasonal food and drink."
