A POPULAR city bar is set to open the doors to its new extension after months of planning, owners have confirmed.

Cabinet Rooms on Jewry Street recently took over the premises formerly occupied by Computer Solutions to expand its space and offer customers a larger space.

The cafe and bar will open in November while owners Gary Whiter and Marcus Roe patiently wait for the new bar to arrive, which has been bespoke designed.

Gary said: "We're hoping to open mid-November. There have been so many delays due to Covid, ordering items has been a nightmare. We're now waiting on the new bar that has been bespoke made due to the structure of the building, then we will be ready.

Gary and his business partner and husband, Marcus have both felt the pressure, but feel excited about the latest push. Gary said: "We're very excited. It has been a big project and at times stressful, because we've had to compete with the cost of living, Covid and supply issues, but it is so exciting to see it all expand and to put some love into the building.

"We have tried to be really respectful of the building and hopefully people will walk past and see it as the grand Victorian building that it is."

The extended bar will have one main entrance, joining both buildings into one.
