The Bishop on the Bridge, 1 High Street has set out plans to renovate its terrace overlooking the River Itchen with a new "permanent structure" that replaces a marquee.

The garden currently has large planks of wood replacing the old decking, which will make way for the new structure.
The outdoor terrace is a popular meeting spot with a river view, as is The Willow Tree pub upriver on Durngate Terrace.

A spokesperson for Fuller’s said: "Pub gardens are a really integral part of our business – especially at pubs like The Bishop on the Bridge with a fabulous garden right next to the river. We are really excited to be investing in a winterisation project here which will mean our customers can enjoy sitting in the garden further into the winter.
"As part of the scheme, we will be adding some extra covers and replacing the marquee with a more attractive and solid wooden structure with bench seating. It’s going to look stunning, will be ready imminently and we know it’s going to be popular.
"The best garden in Winchester just got better."
