TWO people are due in court to face allegations of hate crime offences following an incident in Winchester earlier this year.
It comes after officers were called to Wavell Way, Stanmore, during the afternoon of Friday, April 15, to a public order incident, in which three people were racially abuses.
It is alleged that two victims were then further assaulted.
Lynda Mullin, 61, of Stanmore Lane, Winchester, will face the following charges:
- Three counts of racially aggravated intentional harassment, alarm or distress;
- Common assault;
- Racially aggravated common assault.
William Davies, 34, of Stanmore Lane, Winchester, will face the following charges:
- Seven counts of racially aggravated intentional harassment, alarm or distress;
- Two counts of racially aggravated fear or provocation of violence;
- Two counts of racially aggravated common assault;
- Two counts of assault by beating.
Both Mullin and Davies are due to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, October 20 following postal requisitions.
