BEAUTIFUL bollards that make Winchester city centre a prettier place to be have been getting a fresh lick of paint.
There are 25 bollards in The Square which carry versions of famous artworks such as those by Picasso, Mondrian, Jackson Pollack, Matisse and Leonardo Da Vinci and four in Parchment Street.
Rachael Alexander, from the Colour Factory, has been busy this week touching up the artwork after some of it became worn or chipped.

She said: “They always put a smile on people's faces. It is our favourite project, we have been running it since 2005.
“We have a few sponsors interested, so we may be bringing in a few more soon. We are always on the look out for new sponsors and new bollards. We are bollard crazy.”
The Art of Bollards is an ongoing project that began in 2005, aimed at injecting some colour into the heart of Winchester and to give visitors an insight into the culture and individuality of the historic city centre.
Rachael runs the scheme with Jenny Muncaster. To get involved go to thecolourfactory.org.uk
