A Bishop's Waltham man who admitted strangling a woman has appeared in court.
Karl Stanley Wood, of Campion Drive, pleaded guilty to the intentional strangulation of a woman by way of domestic violence on July 3.
He appeared at Winchester Crown Court via video link from Winchester Prison on Wednesday, September 28 for sentencing.
However, the court heard the defence barrister who was meant to be mitigating for Wood had joined the Criminal Bar Association's strike action and therefore wasn't present.
Wood was wearing a full grey tracksuit and spoke to confirm his name.
Judge Adam Feest KC adjourned the case to Monday, October 24 in order for Wood to secure representation.
The 48-year-old has been remanded in custody.
