After the event, Jennifer Jenks, who finished fourth in 10k, said it was a wonderful experience.
She said: “It was a good course. There was quite a lot of hills in it. It was called Winchester Hilly 10k and I wasn't surprised by that.
“But the volunteers were great, and the crowds were good. and the weather was very kind.”
Mel Parker, who competed in 10k, said the event was “very well-organised” and he enjoyed the route.
The Totton resident, who works in Hursley, added: “I ran with a friend. He's due to run the London Marathon next week and I just finished the South Downs Way bike ride on Friday. So we were both not fully fit, but it was a great experience.”
