THOUSANDS of people participated in Winchester half-marathon and 10k run on Sunday, September 25, to make it a huge success.
The Winchester Marafun gave the city a special mood on Sunday morning as residents and runners turned the streets into athletic tracks.
This was also the first time that organisers ReesLeisure introduced its new Winchester Hilly 10k run alongside the popular half-marathon and fun run.
The new distance initially followed the half marathon route before peeling off and encountering the rest of Winchester’s historical landmarks, gorgeous scenery and the city’s hills.
The event brought more runners, businesses and charities to Winchester, promoting the city’s many charms and encouraging a fun day out for friends and families too.
Our photographer Stuart Martin was at the starting and finish points of the marathon to capture the amazing faces that took part in the runs.
Check out our gallery above to go through the emotions of the runners as they participated in an iconic event.
