STAFF at a Winchester restaurant dished up free food to hundreds of people attending the screening of the Queen's funeral at the cathedral.
Rimjhim restaurant on City Road in Winchester set up a pop-up table outside the church's West Door.
Owner M Showquat said: "We are offering food for 500 people on the house in memory of Queen Elizabeth II. She did a lot of things for us and I wanted to do something. It was yesterday that I thought I need to do something."
The food includes a chicken and vegetable biriani, pakora fritters, yoghurt and fruit juices.
Mr Showquat added: "People are loving it and saying thank you. I feel happy doing something for all people. It is a little thing for myself but I feel good abut it."
It went down well with people coming out of the cathedral.
Andy Trenier, cathedral precentor, tweeted: "Local Bangladeshi restaurant serving food to 000's of mourners and those attending the televising of the #StateFuneral@WinCathedral today. Just what we all needed. #ThankYou #bestofbritish #Friendship."
