A WINCHESTER comedian is returning to his home city to perform at the comedy festival.
Paul McCaffrey has performed on Live at the Apollo, Russell Howard's Good News, Impractical Jokers UK and Stand Up Central.
His show, We Go Again, will be at Theatre Royal Winchester on October 2, starting at 7.30pm.
Paul grew up in Oliver's Battery and went to school at St Peter's then Kings'. He said: "After a few years of working in and running bars in London I moved back to Winchester for a short period and lacking a sense of direction, I remembered how much I had enjoyed doing drama at the tower arts centre as a youth so I signed up to the Chesil Theatre where I did two plays and then auditioned for and was accepted at the highly respected East 15 drama school and I absolutely loved studying acting there."

Paul became a full-time comic in 2010 and supported Kevin Bridges on tour. He also supported Sean Lock in his final tour before he died.
Paul said: "In 2019, I realised a huge ambition when I got to perform on ‘Live at the Apollo’ a real dream come true and something I still can’t quite believe to this day. To walk through that smoke as that Iconic sign lifts in front of you feels like an out of body experience and I will remember it forever."
He is looking forward to perfoming in Winchester and said: "I’m so excited to be back performing at the Theatre Royal, I did a show there last October and it was absolutely fantastic performing in that beautiful theatre to an up for it home crowd. My new show went down very well in Edinburgh this year, lots of people came and the reviews were nice it has a very funny surprise ending which I won’t ruin here but it has to do with my dreams of being a rock star. Winchester crowds are always great fun, during the pandemic when entertainment was only allowed outdoors I was putting on shows in places such as The Willow Tree and Northbrook Arms."
