A MEMORIAL service will be held for Earl Mountbatten at Romsey Abbey on Sunday, September 4.
The service will start at 3pm.
The invited guests include Countess Mountbatten of Burma, Caroline Noakes MP, Mayor and Mayoress of Test Valley and Romsey Town Mayor and Mayor’s Escort.
The Earl Mountbatten Memorial Branch of the Legion was founded in 1980. From 1981 the annual memorial service has always been held in Romsey Abbey and up until 2006 there was always a marching parade to and from the Abbey.
After 2006, the march was discontinued after it was felt that it was too strenuous for older members.
