Hundreds of teenagers will be heading to the city to start as freshers this month to be greeted by this 'The University of Winchester...the place to become.

Whatever does it mean? The place to become. What exactly?

Presumably, Belgarum can answer that...the place to become whatever you want to be. The university is saying it will help its students find themselves, to express who they are, as people.

But does a university need to spell that out? Presumably the students are all of a certain intelligence and can work that out for themselves. After all, they will have had 18 years to think about it, thanks very much.
