THOUSANDS of people from across the country have been enjoying a huge music festival as it returned to Hampshire. 

Victorious Festival has been taking place on Southsea Common in Portsmouth since Friday. 

Top acts have includes Primal Scream, Sugababes, Stereophonics, James, Sam Fender, plus many more.

The event has provided fun for all ages with a large family area, complete with fairground and acts such as Octonauts, Baby Shark and Fireman Sam. 

Elsewhere there were big names such as Milton Jones and Katherine Ryan in the comedy tent, a diverse range of cultures on the World Music Stage and folk acts such as Stephen Fretwell and The Longest Johns on the acoustic stage, plus much more. 

DJs were holding a party in the historic Southsea Castle, while acts such as Andy C brought the party to the D-Day Museum car park. 

The festivities proved to be a hit with festival-goers, with many praising the organisation of this year's event.

Hayley Langston, originally from Chandler's Ford, was at the event for the first time with her fiancé Martin Lunan and brother Dan Langston, from Botley. 

She said: "It has been brilliant. It is well organised and we have had lots of fun." 

Also enjoying the event with his family was Kevin Palmer, from Copnor, who was with partner Emma and their teenage children Lorelei, William and Kian. 

Kevin, a site manager, said: "It's been brilliant, it's been a lot better than last year, better toilets and better queues. It's been great, especially for the children." 

Friends Julie Parvin and Tina Brake, from Farlington, were also enjoying the event.

Tina said: "We love coming here every year. We feel like we are supporting Portsmouth. It's a lovely atmosphere."
