A VILLAGE church gutted by fire in 2016 is set to be reborn.
St Peter’s in Ropley is to reopen after a huge fundraising campaign. The church has been rebuilt and extended to create a versatile space for the whole community.
A series of events has been arranged over the bank holiday weekend.
Friday August 26, 6.30pm: opening ceremony with plaque unveiling and reception to be attended by a representative of the Lord Lieutenant, the Diocese of Winchester, East Hampshire District Council, the Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service.To attend, email stpeterschurchropley@gmail.com as numbers are restricted.

Saturday August 27, 10am-4pm: open day with a range of free children’s activities and refreshments to include treasure hunts, toddler play area, arts and crafts and thanks to Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service and fires permitting we will have a fire engine on site.
The Ropley Historical Society will also have a display of material relating to St Peter’s and there will be an opportunity to try out some hand bell ringing.
2pm, 3pm and 4pm Architect John Alexander will give tours explaining the rebuild process.
Sunday August 28, 10.30am: opening service led by Bishop David Williams.
Bank Holiday Monday, August 29, 10am-4pm: The Church will open with refreshments available.
Sunday September 4, 4pm: All Age Celebration, a service especially tailored to welcome Children and Young People into the new building.
