FRIENDS and supporters of a long-standing law firm raised a glass to mark its diamond year in business.
Dutton Gregory held a drinks reception at Chesil House in Winchester on Thursday, July 14 to celebrate its 75th anniversary.
It opened its first office in Winchester in 1947, making it one of the region’s oldest legal practices.
Senior partner Robert Bolwell said: "In the current climate, it is quite an achievement for a law firm to reach its 75th anniversary with its original identity, values and community links intact.

"Dutton Gregory was founded in the heart of Hampshire’s historic capital and we have always maintained our presence in Winchester’s city centre, so we were delighted that so many people were able to come and raise a glass with us to mark such a special moment.’
The firm has built an enviable reputation for managing property transactions, helping local businesses in commercial affairs and supporting individuals in personal legal matters, attracting clients from across Hampshire and along the south coast.

On November 1 2006 it merged with another Hampshire law firm, Bell Pope. The two firms had always had a good relationship and could see the benefit of bringing their two businesses together - Dutton Gregory had a larger infrastructure, support services and a clear strategy for growth in what were challenging times for the profession at the time, while Bell Pope had a physical presence in Southampton that Dutton Gregory was looking for to service its growing client base.
In 2001, Dutton Gregory broke out into the neighbouring county of Dorset by establishing an office in Bournemouth, merged with RWPS in Poole in 2014 and took a London address to help serve a number of national property and commercial clients.
