CROWDS were amazed to see a Spitfire fly over their festivities in Swanmore.
The aircraft had been arranged to fly over the Meon Valley village at the same time as its annual fete.
The Spitfire was one of six which featured in RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight for the Queen's Jubilee flypast in June and the village had been selected for a special flypast of its own as part of the continuing celebrations.
The fete, organised by Meon Valley Lions Club, returned to Swanmore Recreation Ground in Broad Lane for the first time in three years on Saturday, July 9.

Community Safety Officer Gary McCulloch, who was at the day, said: "I had the most incredible day yesterday at the Swanmore Village Fete, it was a real pleasure to speak to so many of you.
