MYSTERY surrounds an abandoned village shop and its future after its owners went bankrupt.
The Premier Stores in Winchester Road was run by Adrian Segovia. He had won awards for his work throughout lockdown, even prompting villagers to create a video showcasing their appreciation.
Postmaster Adrian was also a finalist in the Local Hero category at the Post Office’s ‘We’re Stronger Together’ regional awards for the south east region.

However, the Post Office part of the business closed in October 2021, leaving just the convenience store trading, however this soon ran into trouble and went out of business in December.
Now, months later, the shop still stands empty, with signs up directing people to the Post Offices in Swanmore, Bishop's Waltham and Wickham.
Interest was ignited on local Facebook groups recently after people were spotted moving fridges from the property.
However when the Chronicle called, the shop was empty, with rubbish strewn about the interior.
Adrian was contacted on Facebook, and he said that he had been staying off social media.
He added: "We lost the Post Office after it was found not viable and we went bankrupt in December."
With the shop standing derelict, residents are concerned that it may never reopen as a business - however there is some speculation that it is being gutted ahead of a refurbishment.

This however could not be comfirmed by the Post Office, which said it was still working on to 'restore service.'
A Post Office spokesperson said: “Waltham Chase Post Office is temporarily closed due to operational reasons. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
"We are working to restore service as soon as possible. In the interim alternative branches include Swanmore, Bishop's Waltham and Wickham.”
Premier was also contacted for comment.
